My painting is nspired by will-o'-the-wisp (or ignis fatuus in Medieval Latin meaning "foolish fire") which are mysterious lights said to lead curious nightly travelers from their safe paths. As you get closer they recede, slowly drawing you further and further with them to their mysterious destination. Often that destination is a marsh or a swamp, but there's many variations throughout European folklore.
For me it has always represented a light hovering on a forest path, beckoning the watcher to follow it into the unknown, leaving your safe path which perhaps translates to your real life comfort zone.
You don't know what you're gonna get out of following the light but if you don't go and see you'll spend your whole life wondering.
Do stop by if you're in the area :)
