Last November my friend Andi visited from Austria so we decided to go on a South Island road trip together. Lake Tekapo was our first stop coming from Christchurch. The Water is intensely turquoise especially if it's not a cloudy day. We stayed at the campsite for the night but omg it was so cold!
We spotted some other tourists crouching inbetween the lupin flowers getting their postcard shot, so we asked them to take one of us.
This was taken on the plains before Tekapo. It's a really vast landscape which makes you feel tiny but doesn't come across in the photo. Look at it anyway.
We made friends with Frederik the duck who followed us around and sadly wasn't allowed inside the campsite's kitchen facilities.
